A big warm hug and hello to Alex – our latest team member. Alex has joined the Technical team and has already made a major impact with some wicked little touches. Alex also supports Chelsea FC which means he is both loved and hated by different people throughout the office. Personally, I think it would all be easier if we just put football to one side… accepting that Chelsea are the greatest team on Earth [Benn ducks objects thrown by other staff]. Nice one Al, see you at the Bridge mate.

Well done if you guess the movie tie-in from the photo above.

Anyone who has seen the film ‘Falling Down’ will remember this line as the moment Michael Douglas was served a limp, bland burger in McDonalds, and then asked the server to compare his burger to the one on the menu hoarding. Why is this relevant? Today, Burger King had a promotion in the Metro where you can get a free ‘Proper Breakfast’ burger. The image shows a plump bacon and egg sandwich with a fluffy toasted bun. En route to work, a BK in Charing Cross… why not? Well, a picture says a thousand words so check out the photo below and be content with the following words:
- ‘Optional omelette’ actually means you have to pay more
- ‘100% flamegrilled’ means microwaved
- ‘Thick cut sweet-cure bacon’ means gristle and inedible fat
- ‘Or Cumberland sausage’ means anything as long as it is the bacon described above
- ‘Served until 11am’ means served cold, limp and crap
The best part is how they dress it up as ‘Proper Breakfast for Proper People’ without any sense of irony.
Enjoy your meal.

A gloomy Wednesday AM was brightened up this morning by a bunch of roadworks… covered with neon lighting! This was on the South Bank so good chance that it is an art installation – as opposed to a new council initiative. Is it art? who cares! It looked fab, brightened up my day and made a whole bunch of people stop and look. Another winning installation for the South Bank.

Straight back to work last week in a wet and very windy London. A video shoot of (the highly esteemed) David Carson to be used in an upcoming global marketing campaign for Quark Express 7. David was very amicable and when asked if he was bothered by the wind and rain he simply replied “it’s London, right?”. One very laid back dude.
This week we are shooting Peter Saville. Will he be as nice? Stay tuned.
